We are celebrating another accolade to our name after receiving an honourable mention at the ‘Leadership in Sustainability Awards 2020’ organised by the Malaysia Green Building Council (malaysiaGBC).

The accolade recognises our green efforts at the award-winning 3S centre in the Best New Green Commercial Building category. Ban Hoe Seng Auto General Manager, Kym Looe said, “We are proud to be leading the way towards a sustainable future, where our communities benefit from cleaner and enhanced practices”.

“It’s more than a building, it’s a milestone in Perak’s environment history. Our green 3S centre propels our everyday ambition to achieve higher levels of performance in sustainability and customer care.”

President of malaysiaGBC, Sim Chee Liang, and Honourary Secretary, Ar. Ching Chee Hong, Michael presented the award.

“Winning the award is not easy, Ban Hoe Seng Auto entered the category that had the most entries, which meant they had the most competitors”, said Ching Chee Hong at the award presentation.

He commended Ban Hoe Seng Auto’s green efforts saying, “Not many can grow and maintain a green wall this well. It’s not easy for a service centre to create a pleasant and welcoming environment with plenty of daylight areas”.

Opened in May 2019, our new 3S centre is the first car showroom in Malaysia certified gold in the Green Building Index (GBI) and the first building in the state of Perak to be GBI gold-rated (both provisionally).

The 41,000 square foot building is a shining example of sustainability, highlights include: natural daylight optimised by large glass panels and skylights, combined with energy efficient LEDs and motion sensors;  30 percent of the building’s energy needs come from the photovoltaic panels covering the roof; 60 percent of the water accumulated on the roof is collected and is directed into two 10,000 gallon cisterns that self-irrigates the landscape, flush toilets and wash cars; and a huge green living wall helps purifies the air, reduce the ambient temperature and creates a sense of wellbeing in the community.
